Itinerary

DAY 01: USHUAIA

Pick up at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

Rest of the day at leisure.

                                          

DAY 02: HALF DAY TIERRA DE FUEGO NATIONAL PARK TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel.

This National Park is a reserved area to protect the Subantartic Forest and its native flora and fauna. From this spot we will be able to take a glimpse of both Redonda and Estorbo Islands. Through a path surrounded by Lenga forests and peats, we will reach Lake Roca, a glacier lake framed by mountains and forests. Finally, we reach Lapataia Bay, where we will find traces of the ancient native settlers that used to live in the region. We will have some time to walk through the footbridge, from which we will be able to take photographs and enjoy the feeling of being at the end of the world.

                                         

Optional: The below are 2 activities that can be added to this day. The activities are optional and not included. Please note that just one activity can be added with the tour Half Day Tierra del Fuego National Park Tour.

Option 1, End of the World Train: This is an optional activity during the tour to Tierra del Fuego National Park. This ride takes around 1 hour. After visiting the train station, we will start our ride through part of the original route that the old prison train used to do. We will go through bridges; bog valleys and we will stop at La Macarena cascade. After a short description of the area, we will continue to enter Tierra del Fuego National Park to the place where Lombardich sawmill used to be. The tour finish at the Park Station where our bus and guide will be waiting for us.

Option 2, Catamaran: In the afternoon, board a Catamaran for an unforgettable trip on the Beagle Channel.

DAY 03: DEPARTURE

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home or continue with an extension for another city of this amazing country. We do recommend adding El Calafate.  If you are going back home, we suggest a night in Buenos Aires.

Optional Tours:

Escondido y Fagnano Lakes

– Daily departures, from mid-October to mid-June (depending on weather conditions)

– Departure: Around 09.00am

– Arrival: Around 04.30pm

This tour offers us an unforgettable panoramic drive through big valleys of glacial origin, peat bog areas, evergreen and deciduous forests, waterfalls, and rivers, in the vastness of the Andes Mountain Range. 

We will leave Ushuaia City to the northeast of Tierra del Fuego, through N3 National Route (part of the ‘Panamerican Route’). We will drive through peat bog valleys such as Carbajal, Tierra Mayor and Las Cotorras, among others. During the winter season these valleys are full of snow, which makes possible the practice of cross-country skiing and other winter activities. We will also drive along Cerro Castor downhill of a ski resort. Continue the journey to reach Garibaldi Pass (450 mts above the sea level), only accessible by a winding road that will take us to a panoramic point. From here we will have amazing panoramic views of Escondido Lake and, if weather conditions are good enough, of Fagnano Lake.

We will start our descent towards the northeast to reach Fagnano Lakes shore. After a few minutes to appreciate the landscape we will start our way back to Ushuaia City. On the way we make a stop at a winter resort where you will have the chance to enjoy the typical Fuegian Lamb barbecue.

 

City Tour

– It does no includes visit to the museums

Ushuaia, capital city of Tierra del Fuego Province, is located by the Beagle Channel. Surrounded by the Martial Mountain Range (part of the Andes), it offers us a unique landscape where mountains, sea, glaciers, and forest coexist in perfect harmony.

During the tour we will visit ‘La Misión’, place of the first settlement that gave rise to Ushuaia City. You will see the Provincial Legislature and drive uphill to get the best panoramic views of Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel. On the way you are going to see old houses, belonging to the first local families, and we will drive along the industrial area to finally end the tour at the Maritime Museum. Those who want, can visit the museum (entrance not included) or continue in the bus and return to the hotel.
