Itinerary

DAY 01: ARRIVAL AT PANAMA CITY

On your arrival at PTY Airport, our driver will meet you for a private transfer to the hotel.

Overnight at hotel.

DAY 02: PANAMA CITY SIGHTSEEING & CANAL TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel.

Proceed to the tour. The Panama Canal (Miraflores Visitors’ Center), this is where you can see up-close the operations of the canal and the transiting ships. There is also the canal museum and a short movie on the history and construction of the canal. Cerro Ancon, the highest peak in Panama City that offers breathtaking views of the city, the port and the Panama Canal. Requires a 30-40 minutes’ walk uphill on paved road and another 20 minutes to go back down. Your guide will be waiting for you on the bottom of the hill at the beginning of the path. We do offer alternative viewpoints if you prefer not to walk up the hill.

Amador Causeway, one of the most beautiful places in Panama City. This tree-lined promenade, built from earth & rocks extracted during the canal construction, connects the mainland to four islands facing the city. With many local and international restaurants, this is a great place to have lunch with a nice view of the city skyline. We will visit Casco Viejo also called Casco Antiguo (the Old Town), this is the historic district of Panama City, built 1673 following the near-total destruction of the original Panamá city, Panamá Viejo.

You will also be able to see the Cinta Costera, Avenida Balboa, Las Americas Bridge and the Fish Market (Mercado de Mariscos). Private Service.

 

        

 

DAY 03: EMBERA VILLAGE TOUR

Breakfast at the hotel.

This full day tour takes you deep into the jungles of Chagres river where the Embera Indians have lived for years. The tour starts with a ride up the river in authentic pirogues, these are Embera’s traditional hand carved canoes. On arrival to the village, you will be greeted with ancient Embera’s dances and music. The natives will invite you to explore the surrounding areas which are populated by many birds and wildlife. During your visit, the Embera will give you a glimpse into their mystical rituals and their amazing knowledge of medicinal plants and natural pigments. The Embera women are known as one of the world’s finest basket makers, and you will watch them create beautiful objects made from palm leaves and dyed with natural pigments. You could also have your body painted with a natural fruit dye called Jagua, used by the Indians for body decorations as well as for its health-giving properties. Traditional lunch of fresh fish or chicken and plantains is included.

Bring a swimsuit, if water level permits, we go for a swim in a nearby waterfall. Private service.

 

DAY 04: PANAMA BEACH DAY

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today you will enjoy a day of total relaxation. Being the narrowest area of ​​the American continent, Panama is bathed by two oceans which will allow you to enjoy a great experience visiting any of its coasts either Pacific or Atlantic. You can choose between the white sand beaches of the Pacific or the turquoise beaches of the Caribbean. You will have time to relax and enjoy a sun kissed retread.

 

 

DAY 05: DEPARTURE FROM PANAMA CITY

Transfer from the hotel to the airport for you flight back home.
