Itinerary

DAY 01: SAN JOSE INTL. AIRPORT – TRANSFER TO LA FORTUNA

On your arrival at San Jose’s Juan Santamaria Airport, our driver will meet you at SJO airport for a private transfer to La Fortuna, a village located in northern Costa Rica and home of the impressive Arenal volcano.

Note: In case of a late arrival night, we suggest overnight in San Jose. Please let us know and we will gladly update!

DAY 02: LA FORTUNA – SAFARI FLOAT NEAR ARENAL VOLCANO – ARENAL VOLCANO HIKE – LA FORTUNA

Today, you will be picked up at the hotel to enjoy the Safari Float River Peñas Blancas Tour. Transportation, entrance fee, bilingual guide (English and Spanish) and taxes included. Shared tour.

Come see the abundance of nature and wildlife that Costa Rica has to offer! The Safari Float is a smooth two-hour paddle down the quiet Penas Blancas River and is great for nature lovers of all ages! Your naturalist guide will paddle and steer your boat as you float down the river and point out all the exotic wildlife such as birds, frogs, insects, and even small crocodiles and monkeys! Your eagle-eyed guide will show off Costa Rica’s amazing wildlife as he points out the wide array of species of plants and animals.

In the afternoon you will enjoy a walk at the Arenal Volcano National Park, an iconic volcano! Transportation, bilingual guide (English and Spanish), entrance fees & taxes included. Shared tour.

With previous reservation, we take you through the abundant biodiversity existent on our natural reserve. A naturalist guide will open you the doors of the fascinating and colorful tropical rain-forest world through his knowledge of natural history. Enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle hike along the base of this marvelous volcano. The hike begins in one the trails close to the volcano; this trail will take us through the forest over recent lava flows and the area destroyed in 1968 now in the process of regeneration. We are going to be on this trail for about 2 ½ hours.

DAY 03: LA FORTUNA – VAN/BOAT/VAN TO MONTEVERDE – ZIPLINE TOUR – MONTEVERDE

After breakfast, leave la Fortuna, transfer to Monteverde in a very original way, doing a kind of tour at the same time, and save driving time. Transportation, boat transfer and taxes included. Shared services.

You will be picked up at your hotel, then transferred by van (shared transfer) down to Lake Arenal, then take a boat (with roof and life vests) to cross Lake Arenal with sightseeing/animals on the way until you reach the dam instead of driving all the way around the lake, then from the dam continue in a van to Santa Elena. It is frequent to see coatis (“pizotes”) coming out of the jungle on the way.

After a scenery way in the mountains, reach the famous Monteverde Cloud forest, which was founded about 40 years ago by a small group of conservation-minded Quakers who were looking for a peaceful place to live.

In the afternoon, you will be picked up at your hotel to enjoy an exciting adventure in the hills of Monteverde rain forest. Transportation, bilingual guide, entrance fee and taxes included. Shared tour.

You will enjoy one of the safest extreme adventures in Costa Rica! The tour guides start by harnessing you with all the appropriate equipment after which they will lecture you on all the safety procedures to enjoy this amazing adventure. You will then be flying through 15 cables and 18 platforms with an optional Tarzan Swing at the end of the adventure. See and enjoy the cloud forest of Monteverde!

DAY 04: MONTEVERDE – TRANSFER TO MANUEL ANTONIO

This morning, you will be transferred to Manuel Antonio. Shared transfer and taxes included. Transfer time 4 hours approx.

Famous for its National Park, the bustling little town of Manuel Antonio is located on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, very close to Quepos, known for its sport fishing and lively atmosphere. The region is a treasure for its biodiversity, attracting nature lovers, eco-travelers and adventurers. In addition, visitors can enjoy white sands and perfect waters… Time at leisure to enjoy the beautiful beach!

DAY 05: MANUEL ANTONIO AT LEISURE

Day at leisure to enjoy and relax in the tranquil crystalline waters of the Pacific Ocean, enjoy the amenities of your hotel or do some shopping in the bustling seaside village of Quepos. Optional tours are available, please consult with us!

DAY 06: DEPARTURE – MANUEL ANTONIO – SAN JOSE INTL. AIRPORT

Depending on your flight schedule, our driver will pick you up at your hotel and will privately transfer you to the International Airport in San Jose to take your flight back home. Transfer time 3-3:30 hours approx. Transportation and taxes included.
