Itinerary
DAY 1: Masai Mara
A natural extension of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, The Mara is world famous for its vast assemblages of plains game together with their associated predators. It is a country of breathtaking vistas, a panorama of vast rolling plains and rounded hills of intermittent groves of acacia woodlands and dense thickets of shrub. The whole is bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries, which are margined by luxuriant riverine forest. Met on arrival by ex early morning flight and proceed to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive at your lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at Hotel. (L, D)
Day 2: Masai Mara
Full day in the Masai Mara Game Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. Meals will be on the campsite, best day to spot wildlife. (B, L, D)
Day 3: Lake Nakuru
The scenic Lake Nakuru National Park established in 1961, is situated in the Great Rift Valley, in Kenya, near Nakuru town, and is home to a variety of wildlife such as the lion, leopard, rhino, giraffe and buffalo. Lake Nakuru is a world heritage site famous for its million plus flamingo population, is also an ornithologist’s heaven with over 450 plus bird species and has unique forests of cactus euphorbia trees in addition to a sanctuary for rhinos. After breakfast, depart to the Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at the park in time for lunch. Late afternoon hours game drive in park including the Lake area where you see a variety of bird species including the flamingoes. Return to Lion Hill Lodge at sundown for dinner and overnight. Day 4: MT. Kenya
This Luxurious Club is set in over 100 acres of landscaped gardens on the slopes of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second highest Mountain. One of the most exclusive accommodations in Kenya, the Fairmont Safari Club offers a unique blend of comfort, relaxation and adventure. Originally the retreat of movie star and Club founder, William Holden, the Club’s illustrious former members have included Winston Churchill and Bing Crosby. Depart after breakfast and continue through central Kenya to the nearby Mount Kenya Safari Club, arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon is spent at leisure to enjoy the optional activities available at the Club like horse riding etc….. Dinner and overnight will be at Mount Kenya Safari Club. Day 5: Sweetwaters Tented Camp
Located on the plains of Mount Kenya, the camp features thirty-nine luxury tents, each with its own private veranda overlooking the water hole. Host to all the members of the ‘Big Five’ (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard), the conservancy has a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any Kenyan national park and is one of only four private game conservancies to have been founded in Kenya. At the forefront of the Kenyan conservancy program, the conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, hosts the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, and shelters large numbers of rare and endangered species. After breakfast proceed to Sweetwaters. Arrive in time for lunch at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Later in the afternoon go for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B, L, D)
After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi arriving in the early afternoon hours, followed by a local lunch and later drop at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight. (B, L)
